Green Trees Arboriculture Ltd, based in St Albans, offer a range of tree management services to domestic and commercial clients across South East England.
We operate as a compact team of professional tree workers, with customer satisfaction and ecological responsibility at the core of everything we do.
All work is carried out in accordance with current best practice, and is covered by 5 million public liability insurance.
All staff are fully trained and qualified to carry out their assigned tasks, and all works will be carried out safely and with minimal disruption.
Tree Pruning
Pruning may be required for a number of reasons, such as when trees come into conflict with built structures, or where a tree or parts of a tree have become unsafe (pruning to mitigate the risk of tree failure). Each situation is unique, and careful consideration is often necessary to formulate ethical and appropriate recommendations. All pruning works will be undertaken by a suitably qualified and competent arborist team, ensuring that management objectives can be met while causing as little harm to the tree and surrounding environment as possible.
Tree Felling and Removals
Green Trees Arboriculture Ltd does not advocate the unnecessary felling of trees. However, where felling is necessary, appropriately competent and qualified arborists will be used to ensure the tree is brought down safely and efficiently. The usual method of removal is for a climber, with support from ground staff, to dismantle the tree in small sections, using rigging and lowering techniques where necessary.
Stump Removals
Tree stumps provide a valuable habitat for many fungal and invertebrate species. However, in certain situations it may be appropriate to remove the stumps of felled trees. The usual method is to grind the stump with a stump grinder, which will convert the root into small wood chips that can either be removed from site or left to rot down.
Tree Planting
We currently operate a small-scale tree and hedge planting service, offering tailored planting plans for individual/small groups of trees and hedges, with advice on appropriate species, as well as the replacement of trees removed under Tree Preservation Order or Conservation Area legislation.
Emergency Call Out/Storm Damaged
If you have a tree related emergency that requires urgent attention, you can call Tim Williams any time on 07540 243434. We can then arrange to have the tree inspected and/or arrange a team response to resolve the situation if necessary.
Hedge Management
Hedges provide numerous benefits to both humans and wildlife (e.g. valuable screening, protection from noise/pollution, food and shelter for wildlife, nesting habitat, flood mitigation, etc.), but require regular maintenance to retain them as hedges and therefore retain those associated benefits. We offer a range of hedge management services, from regular light trimming to larger scale reductions of overgrown hedges.
